Taking Action to Prevent Lead Poisoning
Lead and Leadership is an ESOL public health curriculum about preventing lead poisoning, featuring characters from the We Speak NYC videos. The language and concepts in Lead and Leadership are relevant to public health broadly. There is a Study Guide and a Facilitator Guide.
The Study Guide contains brief narrative and non-narrative readings and linked activities in a fillable PDF ready for use in synchronous or asynchronous classes online. The engaging stories, non-fiction readings and activities are also useful for teaching reading modalities and strategies.
Lead and Leadership was created for the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in partnership with The City University of New York and the NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs.
